She even does some live inquiry and reveals feelings of vulnerability at some of the questions I ask. Listen in to learn more about the Enneagram Type 8 patterns and this 8's relationship to the various aspects of Emotional Intelligence (self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, social management).
About Di:
Di Strachan, a Social 8 Enneagram type (with her Self-Preservation instinct repressed), has been the award-winning owner and director of her organizational development and training company, Positive Futures. She has helped thousands of business owners and non-profit organizational leaders for the past 30 years.
She has been on her own Enneagram learning journey for 23 years.
Di grew up in the California Bay Area, the only girl with four brothers. Four out of seven of her family members are 8s.
Di has been a trailblazer in the world of adventure for women as one of the first female adventurers to walk 1,600 miles, the length of California, in 1973, helping the US Forest Service map it for future hikers. She also met the gender challenges of being the first female Colorado Outward Bound River Rafting Instructor in Utah and Colorado in the mid 70s.
To celebrate her 50th birthday, she completed a solo 23-day sea-kayaking expedition 30 miles off the coast of Australia. Di is an open-water long-distance swimmer. Her last big adventure was swimming 15 miles over 5 days off the coast of Crete. This year, to celebrate her 70th birthday, Di will be swimming and benefitting from Ayurvedic healing in Australia, Hawaii, and Bali.
